The pairing of Melon and Prosciutto have gained immense popularity, and it’s easy to see why.
The combination of juicy, ripe melon and delicate, paper-thin prosciutto creates a harmonious blend of flavors. Adding in a balsamic glaze adds new depths to the flavor pallet!
The contrasting textures and tastes make these skewers a delightful treat for both the palate and the eyes.
Choosing the best melon is key to this appetizer!
To create the best Melon Prosciutto Skewers, it’s essential to choose the right melon. Look for melons that are ripe but firm, with a sweet aroma.
When selecting a cantaloupe, check for a firm skin without any bruises or soft spots. The skin should have a slightly wrinkled texture.
Prosciutto: The perfect partner for sweet cantaloupe!
Prosciutto, a thin and delicate Italian dry-cured ham, is the ideal companion for melon in this recipe. It offers a salty and savory contrast that perfectly complements the natural sweetness of the melon.
When purchasing prosciutto, opt for high-quality slices that are thinly sliced and have a vibrant pink color.
Assembling your ingredients for the perfect melon prosciutto skewers!
Start by cutting the melon into bite-sized cubes. Thread a cube of melon onto a skewer, followed by one bocconcini, 1 folded basil leaf, folded half strip of prosciutto and finish with another piece of melon.
