This Caprese Appetizer is such a delightful twist to a classic salad.
A Caprese Salad is a classic Italian dish that celebrates the flavors of fresh tomatoes, creamy mozzarella cheese, aromatic basil leaves, and drizzles of olive oil and balsamic glaze.
To elevate the Caprese Salad to an appetizer, we will be serving it on top of toasted baguettes, adding a delightful crunch and making it easier to enjoy.
The Caprese Salad originates from the beautiful island of Capri, located in the Bay of Naples, Italy.
It is believed to have originated in the 1950s, during a time when Italy was experiencing an influx of tourists, including many celebrities.
Our base is a lightly toasted baguette drizzled with heavenly olive oil, salt and cracked pepper.
Enhancing Presentation:
- Arrange the assembled appetizers on a beautiful platter or wooden board for an eye-catching display.
- Garnish with a few extra basil leaves and a drizzle of balsamic glaze for an extra touch of elegance.
- Serve for fresh mozzarella, basil and sliced tomato on smaller bite sized baguettes for easier more convenient consumption.
